The Certificate Course in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a professionally designed programme offered by Mentex School of Counselling and Psychotherapy. It aims to equip practising mental health professionals with the essential skills and knowledge to support individuals experiencing intense emotional dysregulation, self-harm, suicidal behaviour, and complex psychological presentations. Rooted in evidence-based psychological theory and practical clinical frameworks, the course empowers participants to deliver DBT-informed interventions with confidence and competence. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the biosocial model of emotion dysregulation, the four core DBT skill modules such as Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness and key clinical tools including chain analysis and diary cards, all critical for supporting clients in building a life worth living.
